Chapter 3 · 3.4
Undo, Redo and the clipboard
A mistake is easily fixed. On the left of the toolbar, you'll find the buttons you'll need most often.

- Save (Ctrl + S): save your latest change straight away.
- Undo (Ctrl + Z): reverse your last action. Click again to go back further.
- Redo (Ctrl + Y): carry out an action you'd undone after all.
- Copy (Ctrl + C): copy the selected text or image.
- Paste (Ctrl + V): insert what you've copied.
On a Mac, use Cmd instead of Ctrl. To cut, use Ctrl + X.
Pasting from another program
You can paste text you've copied in another program or on a website. Your browser may first ask for permission to use the clipboard; if so, click Allow. If pasting with the button doesn't work, use Ctrl + V instead. That always works. You can read more about this in Pop-ups, the clipboard and your browser's cache.
Copying formatting
With the Copy style button (the little paintbrush), you take the formatting of a piece of text, such as the font and colour, and apply it to another piece of text.
